Lend a helping hand for a day of stewardship with Friends of the Lost Coast, Sanctuary Forest and the North Coast Redwoods District of CA State Parks on Saturday, July 23rd for the Annual Tansy Ragwort Bash in Sinkyone Wilderness State Park! All ages are welcome! Tansy Ragwort is an invasive non-native plant that can be lethal to local deer and elk populations and is disruptive to the native biodiversity. We will be working to remove this harmful invasive from 10AM-1PM! Please meet at the Needle Rock Visitor Center before 10AM to sign in before we embark on a short hike to the work locations. Tools are provided, and gloves are available to those who need them! If you have a Hori Hori tool, please bring it. Free camping is offered to volunteers for Friday or Saturday night near the Needle Rock Visitor Center! We hope to see you on the 23rd to help tend to our beautiful State Park. To RSVP or confirm camping, contact Michelle Forys at michelle.forys@parks.ca.gov or (707) 677-3109. Rain, heavy winds or a possible road closure may cancel the event.
