Southern Humboldt Community Park
Garberville’s crown jewel, Southern Humboldt Community Park is a 430-acre natural preserve of meadow, forest and historic ranch structures along the Eel River, nestled between the redwoods and ocean.
Visitors to the park can enjoy a playground, picnic tables, disc golf course, skate park, meditation labyrinth, public beach access to the South Fork of the Eel, and 3.5 miles of trails perfect for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, and bird watching.
Directions: From the north, take the second Garberville exit for Sprowel Creek Road and make a right on Sprowel Creek. From the south, take the Garberville exit off 101, proceed to the stop sign in town, and make a left onto Sprowel Creek Road. Enter the park from the left-hand side of the road, where a sign and the main gate will be visible.
