California’s most famous redwoods state park includes 53,000 acres of forest — including 17,000 acres of old-growth coast redwoods and Rockefeller Forest, the largest remaining old-growth forest in the world.

Enjoy camping, biking, riding and one hundred miles of hiking trails through the world’s tallest trees, as well as one of the most scenic drives in the world along 32-mile Avenue of the Giants, the old highway that meanders through Humboldt Redwoods State Park parallel to Highway 101. The park is open and available for recreational activities year round.

Swing by the Visitor Center, operated by the Humboldt Redwoods Interpretive Association, every Thursday-Sunday from 9am-5pm May-September and 10am-4pm October through April for plenty of visual and hands on educational exhibits, a gift shop, theater, library, and volunteer staff able to answer questions about the park and redwoods region.

Note: The Visitor Center is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
